Police: 14-year-old driver crashed reportedly stolen pickup

Two teenage boys were injured when a 14-year-old rolled the pickup truck he was driving in Warren County, Illinois.

The crash happened at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013.

Police said a 14-year-old boy from Avon, Illinois was driving westbound on 23rd Avenue when the truck went off the road at 170th Street.  The truck overturned and the driver and his 15-year-old passenger, also from Avon, were both ejected.

Illinois State Police said the driver was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Galesburg, Illinois and the passenger was flown to a hospital in Peoria, Ill.

Police said the driver was charged with fleeing and eluding, no valid driver’s license, and failure to wear seatbelt.  An investigation was also pending for possession of a stolen vehicle.
