Dog killed during home burglary | Crime

A Warren County, Illinois resident arrived home to find their house had been burglarized and one of their family dogs had been killed.

Police said the homeowner called them at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013 to the home in the 1600 block of Angling Road in Alexis, Illinois.  Warren County deputies and Illinois State Troopers responded.

A gun, a television, tools and jewelry were taken during the burglary. 

The cause of the dog’s death was not released.  A necropsy was planned.
